I have spent the last three years as a precast detailer, working for a small drafting
consulting company called Precast Detailing Inc. in Elk River, MN. During that time I worked
on many interesting projects throughout the Midwest and beyond. I prepared erection and shop
drawing for a variety of precast/prestress concrete company like
Wells Concrete,
Hanson Precast,
Shockey Precast,
Metromont Corp. and
Gate Precast.
Alas due to the downturn in the economy and subsequently the construction industry I am
forced to look for a new position. With my expertise in AutoCAD and the verity of projects
I've worked on over the last three years, I would be an asset to just about anyone looking for
a CAD drafter. Some of the projects I was responsible for in my time at Precast Detailing are:

I started working for Precast Detailing while I was still attending
Herzing College,
acquiring my Associate of Applied Science in CAD Drafting degree. Like most entry-level
drafters in the industry I started off by drawing piece shop drawings. I quickly (within
6 months) rose to the level of drawing the complete set of erection drawing, the drawings
used to construct the structure and from which all the individual piece drawings are
derived. The projects listed above were all my responsibility. I had to coordinate with
a multitude of architects, engineers, and contractors including electricians, HVAC designers,
cast-in-place contractors, curtain wall designers and more.
Herzing prepared me for a wide variety of CAD opportunities. Unlike most schools we were
taught both architectural and mechanical drafting. This has been a big help in preparing piece
drawings. Besides AutoCAD we were also taught other programs like Architectural Desktop,
SolidWorks, Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER, although AutoCAD was the primary application.
I am cursed with a meticulous attention to detail, and a high degree of technical
understanding that has served me well at my time at Precast Detailing. If you are looking
for a skillful CAD drafter feel free to contact me.
